The Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) hosted the biggest and best ultrasound congress in the world in 2009. The 12th World Congress of the World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology took place from 28 August to 3 September 2009 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, in Australia.

Attracting over 2400 participants from 70 countries, the WFUMB 2009 Sydney World Ultrasound Congress, provided an excellent opportunity for people around the world to interact professionally and socially.

The Host Society ASUM and the Organising Committee of WFUMB 2009 wishes to thank all of those who participated in the World Congress.
Special thanks goes to the invited local and international Faculty, who made the meeting exciting and interesting for all of those who attended. There were lectures, workshops, electronic posters, exhibitions and many entertaining social programs.

All overseas delegates (outside Australia and NZ) who have participated at the WFUMB 2009 congress will be offered complimentary E-International Associate Membership until 30 June 2010, as our way of saying thank you for supporting ASUM and making the effort to travel to Sydney to attend the WFUMB 2009 congress.
