High-resolution ultrasonography in the peripheral neuropathies

  • High-resolution ultrasonography in the musculoskeletal system has many advantages, and is the modality of choice in imaging of the peripheral nerve. In this exhibition, ultrasonography findings in various peripheral neuropathies will be presented with available MRI.

    The entrapment neuropathies - the suprascapular, cubital tunnel, pronator, supinator, carpal tunnel, Guyon's canal, and tarsal tunnel syndromes will be shown. Nerve entrapment by the operative device will be included. In the nerve injury cases, neurotmesis, transection or amputation neuromas will be demonstrated. Intraneural ganglion and lipomatosis of the median nerve will be presented in addition to the peripheral nerve sheath tumor. Post-operative neuropathy and interdigital neuritis will be included.
