  • Abnormally adherent placenta (placenta accreta , increta and percreta ) is a condition in which the chorionic villi grow directly into the myometrium without intervening decidua which usually has a morbid outcome.Ultrasonography and Colour Doppler is a sensitive tool to diagnose this condition. The most common predisposing factors are placenta previa and uterine scar (previous Cesarean section). We could conclusively diagnose this condition in all cases referred at our centre using ultrasound and Colour Doppler and hence proving it as a imaging modality of choice.
