  • Objective: To demonstrate Intrascrotal focal extratesticular lesions using high frequency B- mode ultrasonography and Colour Doppler)

Methods: We studied all patients who were referred to our centre for scrotal pain and suspected scrotal pathologies. Using high frequency linear transducer (3-12 MHz) for B-mode Sonography and colour Doppler , we prospectively diagnosed all focal lesions within the scrotum which were extra testicular in origin. A specific diagnosis was achieved in all cases which were further confirmed on post surgical histopathological studies.

Results: Though many patients were clinically suspected of having testicular pathologies, which are commonest, we found sonography and colour Doppler as an excellent tool for making specific diagnosis in all our cases.

Conclusion: Using linear high frequency transducers (3-12 MHz), ultrasound can be a great tool to make specific diagnosis of all focal intrascrotal extratesticular lesions, helping clinicians to achieve a definitive diagnosis for further treatment and management.
