Malignant Hepatic Tumour
Malignant hepatic tumours present unespecific symptoms. Abdominal pain, masses, fever, jaundice, anorexia, early puberty are symtoms and signs usually observed.
The most frequent malignant hepatic tumor are Hepatoblastoma, Hepatocellular carinoma, rhabdomiosarcoma , and metastatis disease.
Hepatoblastoma is more frecuent in males with a peck age at 20 month, almost always in the right lobe, metastasis to lung and lymph nodes, may be associated to Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrom. Ultrasound appereance hipoechoic or isoechoic masses, with hipoechoic rim, calcification and necrotizing areas.
Hepatocellular carcinoma is mostly observed in males 8 years old , it arises within previously injured liver like cirrhosis or tyrosinaemia
Sonographically is similar to hepatoblastoma , the fibrolamelar variety is observed in teen agers and young adults
Sarcomas are less common , the mesenchymal varietyis a tumor of early chilhhod, mean age 2 years old , and has a poor prognosis
Chidren afected with Rabdomiosarcoma commonly present jaundice beause these tumors involve biliary ducts, the definive diagnosis is made by electronic microscopy
Hepatic metastases in chilhood commonly are enconuntered in lymphoma, leukemias, neuroblastoma, Wilms Tumor and Osteosarcoma
