Live Scanning Workshop: Groin / Hernia
Groin pain is common and often leaves the treating clinician in a dilemma as to the exact cause of the symptoms. Sonographic assessment of the groin is a useful, non-invasive test which may be employed to establish a diagnosis or at least narrow the field of options under consideration.
Groin ultrasound is a highly dynamic examination and requires sound sonographic technique to produce reliable results. Clinical examination and accurate history taking also play an integral part in the performance of well directed, clinically relevant groin scan.
This workshop will review the anatomy of the groin, sonographic technique and a full range of pathologies encountered in the groin and their sonographic appearances. We will be considering 'beyond the hernia' and review a range of musculoskeletal pathology that can cause groin pain.
