It is known that stroke is accountable for up to 12% of all deaths. Over recent times, there has been an increase in patient population presenting for symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid artery procedures.

It is our responsibility as sonographers to monitor these patients with confidence in our scanning techniques, protocols and diagnosis when referring to carotid artery disease.

This workshop is directed towards sonographers who perform some vascular ultrasound and will work on improving the skills to examine and identify subtle changes within the carotid arterial system.
