Post-Appendectomy Esophagitis
Over the last 13 months we diagnosed seven women of age range 22 - 45 years and three men of 22-55 years suffering from post-appendicectomy oesophagitis who had their vermiform appendices removed earlier. All ten patients used to smoke or chew tobacco (zarda, gul or sada) and had the complaints of acid eructation and chest pain – ultrasonography showed inflamed oesophagus (lower part). We report these cases as a rare entity.
