Relationships Between Mitral Annulus Movement Velocities and Pulmonary Venous Flow Velocity of Atrial Reversal in the Patients with Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction
Objectives: To explore the relationships between mitral annulus movement velocities(E,A) and pulmonary venous flow velocity of atrial reversal ( AR) in the patients with left ventricular diastolic dysfunction(LVDDF).
Methods: The E,A,E/A,E',A',E'/A',E/E' and AR was recorded by tissue Doppler imaging and pulsed Doppler echocardiography in 320 patients with normal left ventricular diastolic function (LVDF) or grade 1(including1a and 1b) or 2 or 3 LVDDF, and then, the relationships between the E'/A', E/E' and AR were studied.
Results: The E'/A'>1 or <1, the E/E' was 7.3±3.3(4~13.7) in normal LVDF.With the gradual increasing of AR,the E'/A' decreased gradually in grade 1 and 2 LVDDF ,and increased gradually in grade 3, however the E'/A' still<1.and the E/E' increased gradually and it was 11.2±1.8(7.7~16.3) in grade 1a , 13.2±2.3 (9.7~20.3) in grade 1b, 21.6±5.5(13.5~35.2) in grade 2and 3.
Conclusions: (1)The parameters, E/A>1 and E'/A'<1, are not helpful in diagnosing grade 2 LVDDF unless combined with other parameter. (2)The E/E' >15 can indicate LVDDF(being often more serious), and E/E' <8 indicates normal LVDF, but 8≤E/E' ≤15 indicates normal LVDF or early LVDDF.
