Comparison Study of Left Ventricular Myocardial Performance Index Measured From Quantitative Tissue Velocity Imaging Tissue Doppler Imaging and Pulsed Doppler in Fetuses
Objective: To compare the consistency and reproducibility of fetal left ventricular(LV) myocardial performance(Tei) index obtained from quantitative tissue velocity imaging (QTVI), tissue Doppler imaging (TDI)and pulsed Doppler (PD,including PD-separate and PD-simultaneous).
Methods: The LV Tei indices was recorded by two experienced operators using QTVI ,TDI, PD-separate and PD-simultaneous in a randomised order of 25 second and third trimester normal fetuses.Intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) and Bland-Altman plot were engaged to evaluate the repeatability and agreement.
Results: 1There were significantly difference in Tei index value among the four methods(P<0.05); 2Good intraobserver reproducibility were achieved with the four measurements;3Regarding the Tei indices with QTVI and TDI had a smaller systematic bias and limits of agreement than those with PD-separate and PD-simultaneous;4The mean time spent in obtaining and calculating the Tei indices was 140 seconds with TDI and 260 seconds with QTVI(P<0.05).
Conclusions: The repeatability of the four measurements were almost perfect. The LV Tei indices with QTVI and TDI were better interobserver agreement than the others. But the method of TDI is more convenient , and the consumed time is shorter . So, it should be further studied and using in clinical application.
