Sonography in Vascular Neurosurgery
Introduction: We show our experience in the use of transoperativ sonography for vascular brain surgery. Patients with brain angyoms and aneurysms in our hospital (Hospital Civil Dr. Juan I. Menchaca): They are operated with microsurgical technique and the use of trans-operative sonography with the propose of identify and improve the surgical treatment.
Material and Methods: We present the most representative clinical cases of patients with cerebral aneurysms and angioma who were treated microsurgically in our hospital. During surgery, the sonography was used to identify the exact site of lesions (angioma), and their complete remove. To presented cases of patients with aneurysms of which was performed transoperative sonography. We report the value of the sonography in these patients, and the technical details and considerations for their use.
Conclusions: The utiliy of sonography during vascular brain surgery is demostrated by previous reports, However we presented our experience using transoperative Sonography to achieve a better information about anatomical considerations and vascular patency , flow velocities to improve our outcomes.
