Peripheral Arterial Imaging with Colour Doppler: 20 Years Later

  • Dr Joseph Polak, Tufts Medical Center, United States
  • The first publications on color Doppler imaging of the lower extremities were published slightly more than 20 years ago. The basic protocols have basically remained unchanged. The diagnostic accuracy is competitive with that of more sophisticated techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomographic imaging. The overall accuracy and diagnostic performance will be reviewed as well as the extent of current imaging protocols.
